To Mark Lappay,
You can answer your own question. It is natural for a human being to laugh on a debate especially if you know that the opponent is having trouble defending his or her side. You can see this at any debate other than this one.
He spreads his teachings through the radio waves and lately used the television and internet facilities. He is fond of vehemently opposing various religious groups by attacking their non-essential doctrines like tithing and church appellations, as well as, personalities of a number of religious leaders. One effective methodology of Soriano in captivating many gullible individuals into his fold by means of philosophical debates where he normally sets it up in their home turf (i.e. locale). It can be observed that majority of the live audiences are from the Ang Dating Daan group capable of yelling instead of listening intently to what the opponent speaker is saying. Soriano on the other hand is a skilled heckler who tends to annoy and harass his opponent. As a result, this poor fellow who has really no idea totally whatsoever about Soriano’s tactics will be prompted to either abandon the subject that he started or just leave the spiritual arena. Many Elisarians will immediately assume that their self-styled messenger “won” the religious debate not knowing that it was just his being a skilled heckler that made him triumph. A Christian apologist needs to be wary with every statement he utters because Soriano has a reputation of focusing on minor word details propelling him to neglect the whole subject of the debate. This is done by playing back a particular video taped segment recorded by an accomplice ADD camera man so the whole audience would know how the speaker allegedly “contradicts” himself.
To build an impression with his members and audience, Soriano parades himself as a self-styled Bible teacher who “knew” the Hebrew and Greek words of the Scripture. One instance while attempting to answer a question from a caller about the belief in “many gods” he reached out an old version of Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible possibly to show off to the listeners and viewers that the Hebrew word elohim is a “proof” in itself of “many gods.” Bible scholars like James Strong will not validate Soriano’s doctrine of polytheism just because of the word “elohim.” Indeed, a careful study will reveal that even when the plural Hebrew word “elohim” is used only one God is meant (e.g. Dt. 6:4). What’s more, he does not subscribed to proper Bible hermeneutics by studying the original Hebrew & Greek languages of the Scripture including it’s geograpical, historical, cultural and religious background but condemns it. Mainly he is fond of building his doctrine out of Ang Biblia (a local translation of ASV) and some English translation rather than consulting the original languages.

But they should not laugh because the topic here is all about the word of God and as a christian we should not laugh at other mistakes.

Magkano kaya napanalunan ni Gng. soriana dto? may trophy din kaya syang natanggap? parang nsa sabungan lang ah..
How Eliseo Soriano Defeats His Spiritual Opponents
The host of Ang Dating Daan namely Eliseo Soriano will always in his childish act
shout out these words at the face of his spiritual opponent:
1. Kung may mabasa ako? Talo ka na? (Translation: If I can read it then will you
accept your defeat?)
2. Kung mapatunayan ko sa yo ngayon na nagsisinungaling ka sa ganito
karaming tao, tatanggapin mong manloloko ka. Tatanggapin mong manloloko
ka??! Tatanggapin mong manloloko ka??! Talo ka na!!! Talo ka na!!!
Tatanggapin mo??! (Translation: If I can show evidence that you are lying
then will you admit you are a liar in front of these many people??! Will you
accept you are a liar??! You’re a loser!!! You’re a loser!!! Will you admit it??!)
Eliseo Soriano has no gentleness or respect for his spiritual opponents. He will
lambaste them with strong words and justify their use with scriptural references
to Christ Himself. He should know (maybe he does) that for one to use words
like “viper,” “fool,” and others equally degrading to describe the person he is
debating, is culturally unacceptable in most areas of the Philippines. Even if
these descriptive words were used in the ancient near east culture as a means of
describing a person who doesn’t know the true God, it does not give him license
to use such language in the Philippines. Moreover, if Eliseo Soriano is going to
use Scripture to justify his words and actions, he should be made aware of what
Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always
be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for
the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”
Anytime one uses the expected result to justify the means used to attain that
expected result, there is a price to pay. The price that Eliseo Soriano and the
current and next generation of Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) people will pay,
will be in the loss of respect in their families and their followers, and their ultimate
disillusionment with the precepts and principles that form a bases for their beliefs.
A person (or organization) will reap what they sow. If they sow disrespect, anger,
and hatred, so shall they reap. Emotional diatribe is the only method of debate
used by Eliseo Soriano. It is the only way he can insure that he will win the
debate. In this type of debate setting, it is not possible to control the emotions of
Eliseo Soriano and the large number of his always present followers. The
pandemonium that ultimately breaks out in the debate arena is usually sufficient
to give the impression that he has one the debate, even when his opponent is
able to express a true (bad for him) interpretation of what he stands for.
This is exactly why it would be a big mistake for anyone to invite Eliseo Soriano
for a religious debate. Such debates are no better than a circus, a breeding
ground for personal attacks, shouting, and nonsensical arguments festered upon any opponent unlucky enough to have agreed to the debate. This is very similar
to the Filipino amusement game of cockfighting where two different breeds of
roosters will fight to the finish. Unfortunately, any debate with Eliseo Soriano is
never fair. He demands that his rules be followed in the debate, thus assuring the
illusion of his victory. Eliseo Soriano is not really knowledgeable of the Holy
Scripture. He may have memorized a large number of Bible verses, but does not
understand the full meaning, and will use them out of context to raise his
followers to an uproar. Decibel level is the only thing he understands. It was in
Apalit, Pampanga that he learned this principle of crowd manipulation. He knows
very well how to raise his followers into an uproar, and does so to adversely
affect his opponent. The furor that results is usually sufficient to cause confusion
and loss of confidence in his opponent, who is not usually aware that Eliseo
Soriano has brought with him his full-staff and a large number of his devotees.
This Filipino-style of debate will only attract people to worship and be devoted to
the cult leader or founder rather than on Christ. This is why the apostle Paul
warns the believer of this kind of human devotion, “For while one saith, I am of
Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?” (1Co 3:4) The only
conclusion that one can reach, based upon their modus operandi (the way they
operate) is that Felix Manalo, Apollo Quiboloy, Arsenio Ferriol, and even Eliseo
Soriano are carnal (worldly) cult leaders, whose only goal is to elevate
themselves in the eyes of their followers. This is in direct opposition to the
method used by St. Paul in the New Testament Scriptures he authored. Unlike
the men listed in the first part of this paragraph, Paul always pointed his message
at Christ and not himself (1Cor. 11:1; Heb. 12:2).
The next time you watch a religious debate hosted by the Ang dating Daan (The
Old Path) program, don’t immediately believe that Eliseo Soriano won the
debate. It is through the loud, emotional, and mindless responses (encouraged
by him) from the large number of his followers always present for any debate,
that Eliseo Soriano is able to create the illusion (delusion may be a better
description) that he has won the debate.
